We know the myth of how Mary Shelley came to write the novel Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus. The myth is fairly factual but the underlying biases give a completely false understanding of who Mary Shelley was, why she wrote the first science fiction novel (at least in English), and what was happening in the novel.

I love articles about Mary Shelley and the creation of her book, “Frankenstein”, because I feel like I learn something new in every article! People like to touch on different aspects of her life which probably went into the themes of the book, which is a testament to her writing and the depth of the novel, and this article does a great job of rounding up some of these points
