The Astrological Book Tag

No matter what your stance is on the whole thing, you can’t really say that astrology and zodiac signs aren’t at least a little fun!

Name a book you’ve read that was full of fire, desire and passion

Goodreads Link Mini Review

There’s nothing like the fire and brimstone passion in Xiomara’s poetry!

Name a book you’ve read that was beautifully written

Goodreads LinkFull Review

Despite being a rather average read, Rogerson is an incredibly talented writer. She can turn average words and sentences into a kind of magic that transports you to realms you could only dream of visiting!

Name a book you’ve read that featured twins

Goodreads LinkFull Review

Okay, apparently I need to read more books with twins! The only one that I have recorded is Tess of the Road with Tess and her younger twin sister, Jeanne. While we don’t get to see any real complexity in their relationship for most of the book, the ending teases the idea that the sisterly relationship they held may be more fraught than anticipated, and hopefully we’ll explore that more in the next books!

Name a book you’ve read that was a real tear-jerker

Goodreads LinkFull Review

Talk about a tragic book and tragic character. I remember chocking up after finishing this book, thinking about Sadie and how there are women across the world who live the same kind of garbage life she has.

Name a book you’ve read that featured courageous characters

Goodreads LinkFull Review

Not only is Lirael incredibly brave in her will to let go of her initial desires and pick up the mantle of Abhorsen, we see Sam’s true bravery come out, too, at the 11th hour! Of course, we could also rely on the bravery of Sabriel, Touchstone and the Clayr sisters, Sanar and Ryelle, to fight against the great evil of Orannis.

Name a book you’ve read that was pure perfection

Goodreads Link

To this day, Bitterblue stands as an example in my mind of a perfectly executed fantasy novel, with a compelling plot, fantastic characters and a dazzling world.

Name a book you’ve read that was neither good nor bad

Goodreads LinkFull Review

A generally average read for me that had enough major issues to keep it from being ‘good’ to me but not too many major issues that I would say I didn’t enjoy the ride while it lasted.

Name a book you’ve read that was dark and mysterious

Fun fact: This is my sign!

Goodreads LinkFull Review

I wouldn’t call Dread Nation mysterious but it certainly is dark!

Name a book you’ve read that was full of adventure

Goodreads LinkFull Review to Cinder

The entire Lunar Chronicles is one giant, fun adventure across an advanced Earth and Moon!

Name a book you’ve read that made you think

Goodreads Link

Gay’s way with words is amazing! Her use of pop culture to drive home points on feminism, rape culture and the general treatment of women and Black people in America left me with enough morsels to think about long after I finished her essay collection.

Name a book you’ve read that was really quirky

Goodreads Link

‘Quirky’ is such a weird word in that I don’t think it has a particularly accurate definition. In this case, I’m going to use it for a graphic novel filled with humour, light-hearted fun and odd but lovable characters!

Name a book you’ve read that was very imaginative

Goodreads LinkFull Review

Hartman’s take on dragons is refreshingly imaginative and absolutely exciting!

I tag anyone who’s ever read their horoscope from a magazine or newspaper.
