Honesty hour: I don’t really listen to Taylor Swift and the songs I’ve heard so far from the Lover album have not been my favourite. That being said, I was tagged by the wonderful princesses at Book Princess Reviews, and it was fun to do!

I FORGOT THAT YOU EXISTED
a book from your childhood that you don’t remember anything about
I read these Pony Pal books religiously as a kid but I can’t, for the life of me, remember a single book, character, or scene in the whole series.
the worst book you’ve read this summer
DNF’d at about 50%~. Hated the characters, the writing was weak, and honestly, everyone lied to me about how feminist this book was. It isn’t.
a bookish relationship that’s perfect exactly the way it is
Jude and Cardan. I know this is a pretty controversial opinion, and I fully understand the abusive nature of their relationship, but I honestly believe the way they act around each other is awesome and perfectly illustrates how two characters can still be equal even when it seems like there is a power imbalance.
a book with a badass female main character
I have way too many women who fit under this category, so I’m choosing to highlight Essun. This is a stubborn and incredibly powerful woman who will burn down the whole world without batting an eye for the people she loves.
a book with great character development
One of the stronger points of this book was the development of Anna from a single-minded machine to one who could question the world around her. It was both fun and intense to watch her not be manipulated anymore.
I THINK HE KNOWS
your fictional crush
I don’t usually have fictional crushes but I guess the closest one that I came to having an infatuation for was Lan Kaul. He was so thoughtful and kind-hearted, and balanced his insecurity with his duties so well.
MISS AMERICANA & THE HEARTBREAK PRINCE
a book set in high school
Yeah…not much else to say about this category.
a book with a happy ending
This was just such a sweet and adorable comic! Very low stakes and the ending makes my heart flutter!
a setting you’ll never forget
The world of the Seraphina duology is so unique and awesome! It’s a world I would gladly visit constantly.
DEATH BY A THOUSAND CUTS
a book that broke your heart
This book broke my heart in a bad way. I was so excited to read it and it let me know so many times.
a setting that plays a big role in the story
Timekeeper is about magical clock towers and the mechanics trained to fix them, so it made sense to set the book in Victorian England.
SOON YOU’LL GET BETTER
a book that made you cry
a book with a well-written sexy scene
….I’ve got nothing.
YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN
a book featuring an lgbtq romance
a great second chance romance
…..I’ve still got nothing.
your all time favourite book
Without a doubt, one of my all-time favourites! I want to shove this book into everyone’s hands!
IT’S NICE TO HAVE A FRIEND
your favourite friends to lovers book
Clearly I need to read more romance novels, but AGGTVAV has such a sweet pining, friends-to-lovers romance!
a book with a positive message
Don’t let anyone place you in the box, and don’t feel like you must act out a role just because it is what others expect of you.
Time to tag some folks who hopefully enjoy T-Swift’s tunes more than I do!
