I’m definitely guilty of a few inexcusable miss-steps as a reader, haha! I was tagged by my fellow Ottawa-ian, the wonderful, Jenna @ Bookmark Your Thoughts. Thanks to her!
The original tag was made by Chami @ Read Like Wildfire.
One. Have you ever re-gifted a book that you’ve been given?
I haven’t! Mostly because I don’t get a lot of books as gifts; people tend to just give me a bookstore gift cards. If I ever received a re-gifted book, though, I would not at all be mad about it! Yay more books!!
Two. Have you ever said you’ve read a book when you haven’t?
I don’t remember any particular example but I get the sense that I probably have…probably for English class specifically. ‘Cause sometimes ain’t nobody got time for that when you’re juggling other classes.
Three. Have you ever borrowed a book and not returned it?
Not yet! I basically act the same way whether I borrow someone’s money or I borrow someone’s book: I give it back as soon as possible so that my notorious goldfish brain doesn’t instantly forget to do that.
Four. Have you ever read a series out of order?
As a kid, I’ve probably read those kinds of serial book series (Magic Tree House, The Adventures of the Bailey School Kids, etc.) out of order all the time, since I had no choice but to check out whatever book in the series was available at the time! Which only makes me want to go back and re-read these series in order.
Five. Have you ever spoiled a book for someone?
Yeah, but it was a total accident and I still feel terrible! I was chatting with some friends a little after I had finished the last book in the Themis Files series. One friend brought up that she was reading the series and was really enjoying it. I guess I was so excited that it didn’t register in my head that she was only a little into the first book and I straight-up asked her what she thought of a major plot point in the second book. I can still picture the utterly blank look on her face when she realized what I’d done. So anyways, I’m a lot more careful now!
Six. Have you ever dogeared a book?
All. The. Time. And you can’t stop me! But seriously, only when I absolutely have nothing around me that can be used as a bookmark, haha!
Seven. Have you ever told someone you don’t own a book when you do?
Nope, because what if they ask to borrow it?? At least lie in a way that can’t be proven!
Eight. Have you ever skipped a chapter or a section of a book?
Nope. If I’ve gotten to a point where I feel tempted to skip large sections or whole chapters, I just DNF the book or read the end and then DNF.
Nine. Have you ever bad mouthed a book you actually liked?
Nope. I can only think that someone would do this because they feel embarrassed that they like a book, and I’ve gotten over feeling embarrassed over the kinds of literature I like!
Since I was specifically called out this time around, I’m going to specifically call out:
